Andrew is driven by competition and his desire to out-work his adversaries.
Andrew joins SLG as an Associate in the firm’s labor, employment, sports law, and higher education practice groups. Andrew draws on his experience as a student-athlete and working as a football coach at both NCAA Division I institutions and the high school level prior to law school. Andrew received his J.D. from the American University Washington College of Law and has an M.S. in Sports Management from West Virginia University and B.S. in Sports Management from Hampton University.
Andrew has built a national reputation of being a valuable asset to corporations and universities. Corporate entities trust Andrew to consult on employment matters, handbooks, business development, and implementing procedures to safeguard their employees and clients. He is a certified Level Two Civil Rights Investigator and a certified Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Trainer. Andrew has developed a number of training programs related to sexual violence & harassment prevention, COVID-19 safety, and civil rights areas, such as Title VII and Title IX issues.
Additionally, Andrew represents NCAA universities, coaches, and executives in higher education related to employment disputes, investigations, civil rights issues, contract negotiations, and other compliance issues. Andrew provides advice and counsel and conducts training workshops on emerging legal issues on college campuses, like name image and likeness (NIL) issues; NCAA Sexual Violence Prevention, Diversity & Inclusion, and the Cleary Act.
Professional athletes also rely on Andrew for his legal counsel related to contract negotiations, endorsement deals, management agreements, and corporate startups. He also understands the infrastructure of professional sports teams from his time working with the NHL hockey team, the Florida Panthers.
Andrew’s contributions to the legal field have garnered him to be named to the National Top 40 Under 40 by the National Black Lawyers Association and the recipient of a number of other accolades. In his free time, Andrew is a professional photographer and still coaches athletes in performance training.
