This week at Stewart Law Group, I began research on an interesting topic in the employment field: dress code while working from home. I will start writing an article with the other interns shortly. I attended a deposition with an associate and wrote a follow-up deposition summary. I was also able to assist a senior associate in preliminary research for an EEOC matter. Each week, I learn something new about law and the profession as a whole. I am so happy to be a part of the SLG team!

This week at Stewart Law Group, I worked closely with Ms. Keisha on drafting a response to a Motion to Remand. This assignment was definitely one of the harder tasks on my plate and so far in the internship, but I really enjoyed the opportunity. I was able to learn multiple important lessons throughout the process and in the end talked it through with Ms. Keisha. Most importantly, I have learned that it is okay to ask questions but also have confidence and trust your gut.

This week at Stewart Law Group, I continued working closely with the associates. I was happy to attend another deposition and once again learned the importance of thorough preparation. It is imperative to know your case well and be ready to ask questions or make changes quickly. Lastly, I drafted a deposition summary and continued collaborating with my fellow interns on our article regarding current legal trends in L&E law. I have greatly appreciated the guidance and experience I am receiving at SLG. This internship continues to provide me with invaluable skills that I will be using in the future as a law student and attorney.

This week at Stewart Law Group, I had the opportunity to attend a deposition with Ms. Avent. I always enjoy attending depositions with Ms. Avent because I learn so much from her. Through my observations of her performance, I have a better understanding of what a professional and highly motivated attorney looks like. I am the first person in my immediate family to attend law school, so the opportunity to gain amazing role models through SLG has been a blessing!
