We have drafted three all-star future lawyers to join us for our SLG Summer Leadership and Mentorship (SLAM) internship. Each week, the interns will recap their experiences and lessons learned.

This week, I assisted several associates in research and legal analysis for an interesting employment matter. The other SLAMMERs and I were tasked with organizing hundreds of exhibits in order to help Mrs. Amy prepare for trial. This assignment emphasized the importance of time management because we were given a very tight deadline. Mrs. Amy also treated all of the SLAMMERs to lunch this week, which gave us an opportunity to interact outside of the work environment. She truly is an incredible coach/mentor in all areas of life, and I am beyond thankful that she continues to take time out of her day to invest in us.

This week, I drafted an ILP and an informal memo. I also worked in collaboration with the other SLAMMERs on helping Ms. Amy with trial prep. The highlight of my week was going to lunch with Ms. Amy. I am extremely grateful for all the coaching I have received from Ms. Amy and the other attorneys and staff at SLG. This experience is like my basketball days all over again. I am continuously learning new skills and sharpening the skills I already possess.

This week, I had the opportunity to have lunch with Ms. Amy and the other summer interns. I really enjoyed connecting with everyone and spending quality time reflecting on our experiences so far this summer. I loved seeing a diverse group of women with different backgrounds come together to uplift and encourage each other. The lunch was a great reflection of what SLG is all about and it has definitely been the highlight of my summer!
